Kim didn't even have to wait until the trail period ended - she rang to say she was keeping him after only a few short days.

Blaze settled in straight away and passed his pre-purchase vet check easily.

Blaze is a 9 year old Clydesdale x QH who is a stocky (and fat!!) bay gelding. He is approx 15.1hh and is a stunning boy. He has done lots of trail riding with me over the past 2 years and at the moment I have too many rescue horses and Blaze is not getting the attention he deserves.

Great with his feet - never kicks and will happily pick up all 4 feet and is a true delight for the farrier - he sleeps while you shoe him.

He has no nasty vices and has wonderful ground manners. No buck, bite, kick or anything nasty.

Suit rider with some experience as he responds well to someone who knows what they are doing. I guess I'd say an intermediate rider would be best.

Blaze is easy to catch, shoe, trim, float, handle, saddle up etc… A true pleasure to have around. I have taken him to riding club twice and the instructor said he was extremely well behaved considering he has never done it before and she used us as the example horse for the other riders which was really nice (and surprising).

Blaze is calm and lovely to ride on the flat, he also loves to jump but does get a bit strong when doing it. He is very quiet when trail riding and is a good leader or will happily follow. He does tend to get a bit forward when going for a group canter – fine in the walk and trot but gets a bit hyper when cantering in a large group (no buck EVER, just excitable). Great on his own - a really enjoyable ride!

I've probably gone too much into his 'not so good' qualities rather than the good ones but I just wanted to be honest and upfront.

He is fine with dogs, cars, motorbikes, etc…
