Terrific "Taffy"

Taffy was rescued from the saleyards where we outbid the knackery in order to save her life. Taffy turned out to be a fantastic riding horse and she is now living with her new loving family and has fitted right in and they couldnt be happier. Below is an email we received from Monique - Taffy's new owner:

Hi Bree,

Taffy is going fantastic and has settled in really well. She seems to be the boss around here - despite being the smallest equine! All the girls have ridden her and she seems to adjust to their size and abilities - the smaller they are, the slower she goes! She'll happily just plod around the paddock for the 2 youngest, but is just as happy to speed up for the bigger girls. The girls have been playing games on her, learning to control her, jumping up to 50cm and generally having a lot of fun with her - she just seems to do whatever you ask of her! We took Taffy and my other mare Willow down the road for the first time on the weekend and she was a GREAT confidence boost for Willow, who is a rather nervous girl - neither of them put a foot wrong and it made the experience so much better. I'm definitely a happy owner :)

If it's okay, if you have, or come across, or know of, a quiet all rounder - I’d really like to know as I’m looking for another hack for myself.

Thanks, and happy new year!!

Monique and the girls - Lysette, Michelle, Gabrielle, Yvette and Brigitte!

"Banjo" The Beaut Buckskin

Banjo who was rescued from the knackery pen and the saleyards has found the most perfect home!! Here is an email we received from Paul & daughter Kim (his new family) letting us know how well he's going:

Hi Bree,
Thingz are great with Banjo,  we didnt ride him the first week and pumped him with tucker n grass until he settled in, put on a fair bit of condition too. Brushed him out and his coat is looking great ( as great an improvement as u get in 2 weeks. )
I rode him first up on Saturday, he did a bit of a run and settled down nothing serious, any way after abt 10mins I put Kim on and they were in love, she rode for a few hrs just around the arena and through some jumps n stuff, walked him over a few poles etc.  Sunday was better again, I actually left her to it she was doing that well and went back a few hrs later, all good.  Went down again today and much the same as Sunday. Kim's riding and confidence is booming as is Banjo's trust and acceptance of the whole deal.  Mega happy with the purchase. Thanks again, and it probably wont be long before I get one too. Im feeling left out just watching.
Chat soon
Paul.

Here is a picture of Banjo looking fabulous at his new home- What a SPUNK!!

"Pixie" the perfect ponyclub pony !

Pixie & Amanda are just the most perfect pair.

Here is an email I received from Amanda's mum Kate & some pic's from a successful day at pony club.

Hi Bree

Just a quick one to send through some photo's of Pixie's & Amanda's first day at pony club.

They both had a fantastic day and Pix was just a absolute angel, both horse and rider were so stuffed when they got home, Pixie just laid down, looked at Amanda and I could have sworn I heard her say, just feed me here and leave me alone. I don't think Amanda knew what such a huge day they would have, It is about 2kms from our house to the Pony club so she rode down & back, and with 3hrs solid riding in the middle. But it was worth it she came home with a 2nd in the games, which she was really excited about. They were taught how to play Polocross as well as Jumping, Pix had no probs going over the smaller jumps. she had no trouble blending with the other horses or adapting to anything which was just fabulous. They are having a one day event very shortly and Amanda is really keen to be involved, more so with the cross country than Dressage "cause you know that's just boring" but Pixie did beautifully in the Dressage ring.

As you will see in the piccies she is in peak condition and getting spoilt rotten still, she is still being ridden each day and now that the weather is warming up and holidays are on their way she will be sick and tired of being ridden.

Hope you like the photos.

Cheers :)  Kate

                       *** WELL DONE AMANDA ***

Georgie & Rachel, the perfect match !!

Georgie has had a hard time of things and came to us in a terrible state - see "Success Stories" page.

She is now doing fantastically & has a happy new home with her new owner Rachel.

Rachel initially took Georgie on a lease, and was so happy with her that she decided to keep her.

What a lucky girl Georgie is, who has now been re-named "Georgia", just beautiful !!!

Here she is all tacked up and ready for a ride. She looks amazing !!

Some happy "tails" about our past rescue's....

What a lovely email I received from "Merlin's" new mum Rachel....

Hi Bree,

Its Rachel here, I purchased Merlin from you, just a quick note to say he is fabulous, such a sweetie, and is doing so well, now has a life of luxury, kids feeding him apples, and the occasional ride. He’s even being ridden by a 7yr old boy, who just loves him to death.

Thank you for the opportunity to own such a beautiful horse.

Thanks for your time

Rachel

(No picture available at present - Merlin was a grey arab gelding 14hh, aged.)

A Happy tale about our big beautiful gelding “TRIGGER” who went to a fantastic home with Hannah & Scott….

Hi Bree

Trigg’s is beautiful !!!

Scott has had a few little rides on him (bare-back), and we have been taking him for walks around the neighbourhood!! He loves our cat, Ziggy - its quite funny watching them both. He's not to thrilled about the dogs, Wolf and Moo, but is getting a bit more tolerant. He was missing other horses for the first few days, but seems to have buddied up with the two young heifers, Googie and Red, in the paddock.  I've attached a cute pic of Trigg with Scott and Zig (our cat) - thought you might like to see it !

Talk soon, Hannah

Its great to hear that after the rocky start “C.J” had, she is now a happy girl living over in Western Australia with Elaine, who has re-named her “CHANCE” – what a fitting name !!

Bree, Everything going fine. CJ is being perfect. She is the boss in the paddock though (not so pretty with ears pinned to head!!!!!)  Have ridden her in a halter a few times and she’s very quiet, hope she stays that way. Elaine.

Little Jess – Now renamed “ROXY” has a fantastic new home. Kylie & Suzy have got themselves one very special little pony.

Here is a little note that I received from Kylie:

Hi Bree,
Suzy is happy and growing more confident and that is what I am most concerned with. She is just what I'd been looking for, as Suzy needed to go onto something bigger and more forward. Anyway, all the way home on the day we first saw her, Suzy thought up a million names she could call her, and decided on Roxy. And so far, Roxy rocks. Suzy looked at lots of ponies and discounted some even before she rode them, but wanted Roxy as soon as she saw her. So she has a good home. She is happy and safe here, and if the time comes when Suzy has outgrown her, she will only go to another terrific home.... Kylie

The Stunning “Patch” has found the greatest home in QLD with his new mum Jodie
Below is an email we recevied from Jodie : -

Hi Bree, He's absolutely wonderful. I have ridden him 4 times now and he is getting a little more responsive to move away from the leg each time. He settled in nicely after his trip and immediately got down to the business of munching away. He's had quite a week. First it was worming time, then there was bath time, then to top the week off, he had his feet done. He's probably thinking, wow, what else can these dreadful people come up with!! Please keep in touch. Love Jodie

(Patch was not a rescue horse, I bought him for myself, but he was a little slow for what I wanted)
