What an angel this horse is !!!

Mook is just such an exceptional horse. We cannot seem to get over his laid back cruisy nature. We've floated him a few times now and he is a complete gentleman to float - easy on, easy off. We've taken him to Lysterfield and gone for rides through the equestrian tracks up there and he was SENSATIONAL! Nothing fazes this horse - we saw pushbikes (in groups about 15), jogging people, prams, motorbikes (on the road part of the track), heaps of kangaroos and even 2 echidna's and Mook didnt even batter an eyelid. We took him from a full gallop back to a slow walk and he was happy to do it all without even thinking of jig jogging or being silly.

He truly is just the best beginners horse you could find. We think that he is a Quarter Horse in a Thoroughbred body as he has the calm cool nature of a QH.

Mooks is a delight to catch, float, - he's freshly shod and was a perfect gentleman for the farrier and is just an allround beaut horse!

Here is Mook being ridden on a loose rein through an industrial area past machinery - what a champ!!

"Mook" - One in a million TB

Meet one of our up and coming horses “Mook” (ASB registered name: Culzean)

This horse is truly that one in a million thoroughbred! He is approx 16.1hh, 9 years old, dark bay gelding. The temperament on this horse has to be seen to be believed – he is fantastic on trails and roads, doesn’t care about crazy barking dogs, or even tractors and windmills! He has a cool calm head at all times and is a fantastic ride.

Mook is a fairly lazy boy who happily plods along behind the other horses when out and about, but if you gee him up, he’ll also lead the pack without being spooky or silly. He has 3 beautiful paces and is a very comfortable cruisy ride. No buck – even when the other horses canter off in front of him.

You can take him from a full gallop, back to a calm walk with just a gentle ask on his mouth, he doesn’t get fizzy after going for a hoon – and will go back to his usual ploddy self.

We’ve taken him through industrial areas around machinery and he never bats an eyelid. We can’t speak highly enough of this horse.

Mook retired from racing at the age of 8 due to a bone chip in his leg and was going to be sent to the knackery as the trainer wasn’t able to “fix it”. All he needed was a good 6 months rest and now he’s fighting fit! We’ve really been testing him out on that leg and so far – no problems at all.

Mook is still undergoing assessments but we hope to be able to offer this beautiful horse up for adoption in the coming month/s. Stay tuned…….

(Mook’s full time carer and owner at present is Emma who is one of the senior partners here at Horses with Hope).

At this stage it is too early to advise on an adoption fee for Mook but once he’s finished his assessments we will then update this page with further details….
