What is the NoBit Bridle?
The NoBit Bridle is a type of bitless bridle that is suitable for all kinds of horses and ponies. It works by applying gentle pressure to the entire head by using a unique cross over design underneath the jaw instead of pulling at the delicate areas of the mouth. Because the pressure is only applied to non-sensitive areas of the horse's head, the horse feels none of the pain that is associated with other forms of headgear including a traditional bridle.
"Nobit Bridles" have kindly donated a spunky red bridle for our rescue horse "Tango". He is a lovely gelding, but has a reasonably hard mouth and doesnt seem to respond all that well to the bit. We are going to try the Nobit Bridle on Tango and put some pics and updates on this page about his progress....
Update: ......
Unfortunately due to a lack of daylight hours at the moment, we havent been able to try Tango with our new bridle, but will eventually, and once his progress is known we will post an update.
But in the meantime, we did find the time to try one on our little girl "Pebbles". Peb's hadn't been mouthed properly and as a result would not accept the bit very easily. So we tried the No-Bit Bridle on her and WOW!! What a result, she responded really well and after about 15 minutes of riding, she adapted fantastically. She was a little confused to begin with, but listened to what we were asking her to to and she got the idea after that. She took a bit to adapt to the turning, but the stopping was fantastic (not that she was ever hard to stop though...) It'll be interesting to see how Tango goes with his stopping when we get a change to try him out!!
Isnt she beautiful!!! Pretty in Purple...
