26th June 2006 - "Riding Rosie"
|
Little Rosie is doing exceptionally well. We managed to get a little pony pad for her and have been doing pony rides with her and she's just taking everything in her stride. She has such a sweet nature and is so gentle with the kiddies.
Here she is plodding along with little Jade.

Rosie has been offered a long term loving home with a close friend of ours here at HORSES with HOPE so Rosie will leave us soon to go to her new home where she will continue to be spoiled and will be adored by her new family. Thankyou to everyone for following Rosie's journer with us.
We will post some final pics soon to show the "before and after" body condition. She looks great now - but still super fluffy. |

25th May 2006 - Rosie meets Tonka
|
Time for another update….
I am hoping to take some new pictures of Rosie soon to post here, but for now, here is a very cute shot of her meeting Tonka – our new 17hh Clydesdale. She was such a tough little cookie for their first meeting. You would think she’d be a bit hesitant to meet him as he really towers over her, but she didn’t care, she came straight up to say hello – they sniffed noses – both let out a little squeal and that was that.
Since their first meeting, they have gotten pretty friendly and when Tonka is tied up being brushed or saddled – Rosie seems to think that it is imperative that she is very close by to monitor things!! She sniff’s him all over, sticks her head under his belly to nibble some grass and if we let her I’m sure she’d walk under him!! Hopefully I’ll be able to catch the two of them and take a photo one day, but I’m sure you get the impression anyway.

10th May 2006 - Feelin Fine !!!
|
Rosie is doing great. She's gained plenty of weight and is feelin' fine - she spends her whole time hooning around the paddock showing off!! Its the cutest thing to watch. Also when we are walking through her paddock she spends the entire time trying to get into our pockets to see if we have treats for her. She's a very affectionate little girl and is going to make someone very happy one day soon.
We have got her a tiny little 3'3 canvas rug which she loves and she looks cute as a button in it.
We hope to do some lunging work with her soon and would love to get her going under saddle but at the moment we are on the lookout for a cheap pony pad or small saddle for her. If anyone knows of one going for a reasonable cost, please let us know.

18th April 2006 - What a cutie !!
|
Here are pictures of Rosie taken last week. As you can see she is in fairly poor condition. She has a very large pot belly which is due to her being very wormy and undernourished. She has no meat or muscle on her little body, and her rump/shoulders/neck are very bony and frail. The pictures do not show her conditon very well as she is a very fluffy girl and this tends to hide the real truth. Even though she is undernourished, you can tell she has been handled well as her nature is amazing. She waits at the gate to say hello, she follow's you everywhere like a puppy, she will do anything you ask of her. A real genuinely quiet, sweet natured little lady.

Meet our latest Rescue Pony "Rosie"
|
Rosie is approx 3-4 years of age and is 9hh. She is a shetland that was at the saleyards recently with a bleak future ahead of her.
She was unwanted and has been quite neglected. When the auctioneer came to Rosie, there were a couple of dogger bids to begin with, then nothing, poor little Rosie just stood there quietly awaiting to hear her fate.... We couldn't bare to see such a little angel end up in the hands of the doggers so we promptly bid and won the sale. |
